Indie Author Advent Day 9: LJ Daniel

Welcome to day 9 of the 2025 Indie Author Advent! This fun series will help us to get hyped for 2026 by celebrating some of the wonderful indie releases of 2025! Today I am interviewing LJ Daniel. Be sure to check out my Instagram for even more excitement with this event!
LJ's 2025 Releases
1. What is your favorite thing about your 2025 releases?
"I’ve fallen in love with these characters. They were originally based on people in my life and slowly evolved into their own people. This little family is everything I hoped they would be an more, and I can’t wait to write more experiences in their world."
2. What are your inspirations for your books?
"The main inspiration for my book came from my husband and my son. I marvel at the challenges they face daily and how they overcome them. I wanted to created an MMC that struggled but wasn’t toxic and showed that he can live with his mental health challenges and still be a lovable character that everyone wants a version of in their lives."
3. Why do you think representation is so important in books?
"I think people need to be seen in fiction. It gives us hope that no matter what kind of struggles we face, we all deserve our own HEA, no matter what that looks like for us."
4. Any advice for people who want to publish in 2026?
"Just keep going. This process is difficult and draining, but it’s also rewarding. I love being able to say that I published a book! Write the first draft and let it be ugly. You can make it pretty later, just go ahead and tell yourself the story."
5. What are you most looking forward to in 2026? Any more releases on the horizon?
"I’m looking forward to finishing my first fantasy book. This is a story that’s lived in my soul for over a decade and I’m ready for it to see bookshelves. I’m also excited to continue in this contemporary world I’ve created with more characters that my readers already love."
6. Is there anything else you would like to add?
"I’m very grateful for the opportunity to get my books in front of more people. I want this story to find everyone that needs to read it."
