Indie Author Advent Day 1: Harriet Ashford

Welcome to day 1 of the 2025 Indie Author Advent! This fun series will help us to get hyped for 2026 by celebrating some of the wonderful indie releases of 2025! Today I am interviewing Harriet Ashford. Be sure to check out my Instagram for even more excitement with this event!
Harriet's 2025 Release
1. What is your favorite thing about your 2025 release?
"I love how two hurting people come together and help heal the cracks left by life."
2. What are your inspirations for your book?
"The FMC, April, is a huge audiobook lover and so much of her came from the Bookstagram/BookTok community."
3. Why do you think representation is so important in books?
"We can gain so much empathy from books. There’s power in living these moments with characters who are so different from you and still being able to see likeness because at the end of the day, we’re all human."
4. Any advice for people who want to publish in 2026?
"If you are publishing a book for the money and fame, you are probably setting yourself up for disappointment. But if you are publishing your story because you love your characters and you want to share them with as many people as possible, buckle up because you are about to embark on an amazing adventure."
5. What are you most looking forward to in 2026? Any more releases on the horizon?
"The third book in the Trouble Series! It’s between a birder and a nature photographer. It has a lot of banter and quite a bit more suspense than my other two. My betas say it’s my best book yet."
6. Is there anything else you would like to add?
"If you are an audiobook lover, be sure to check this one out. It’s a duet performance, and my narrators Marie Mitchell and Gabriel Michael (THE voice of Xaden Riorson) put on a stunning performance."
